Star Wars gamers across the world honor Carrie Fisher

Carrie Fisher, the famous actress that played Princess Leia Organa in the Star Wars movies, died following a massive heart attack. Star Wars players across the world are gathering to honor the memory of their favorite princess in the galaxy far, far away.

The biggest gathering was made in Star Wars: The Old Republic, as you can see it the video above. It took place on planet Alderaan, in an area called House Organa. It was a big gathering followed by fireworks and a walk around House Organa. A beautiful gesture by the Star Wars fans all around the globe.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is set thousands of years before Leia was born, but that didn’t stop the players from giving their last regards. Even the players from the dark side traveled all the way to Alderaan, even though they are at war with the Republic players. They were all attacked by security droids, but that didn’t stop them from attending the ceremony. Also, any kind of open-world PVP was halted during the day.

It was amazing to see heroes from both sides united as they paid their respects. Players of Star Wars Battlefront are requesting that Dice developers update Princess Leia’s costume to commemorate Fisher’s death, since she mostly wears the cold-weather outfit she wore on the ice planet Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back. Previously, Dice indicated that they started making the outfit from the 1977 Star Wars movie.

If you want to pay respects yourself, you can download Star Wars: The Old Republic for free. As soon as you get your ship, visit the planet Alderaan. House Organa is located just north of the Apalis Coast, and, if you play as a Republic player, you won’t have to avoid House Organa’s guards.

May the Force be with you, Princess Leia.
