Where to Find Mechanical Engineering Guide Volume 1 – Outer Worlds Frightened Engineer
To find the first Guide to Mechanical Engineering, you’re gonna have to go to the Emerald Vale Community Center. All that you have to do is simply follow the quest marker. Go inside the building, then through the door on the far right. Head through the door on the opposite side of the hallway. Turn left, go through the door, then hang another left and go up the stairs. The guide is on a desk in the only room up there.

Frightened Engineer Outer Worlds Quest Mechanical Engineering Guide Volume 2 Location
The second Guide to Mechanical Engineering in the Outer Worlds Frightened Engineer quest is a little more difficult to find. You can get the clue to its location in two ways. The first one is to talk to Parvati, but we’re not sure when that triggers. The more secure way is to go to Parvati’s house in the southwest of Edgewater. Go to the upper floor, and into the room of Parvati’s father. Take a gander at the terminal.
Anyways, long story short, the second Guide to Mechanical Engineering is inside the Saltuna Cannery, which is to the north. From the main entrance, go through the doorway on the right. Climb up the yellow ladder on the left. At the top, go through the doorway straight in front of you. The guide is on the white filing cabinets.
Where to Find Guide to Mechanical Engineering Volume 3 Book in Outer Worlds Frightened Engineer Quest?
To find the third Guide to Mechanical Engineering in the Frightened Engineer quest in Outer Worlds, you’ll have to plumb the depths of the Geothermal Plant. That’s basically the last place you’ll visit if you’re pushing through the main quest in Emerald Vale. Go into The Pit, aka the glowing red, foundry-like place. As you explore, you’ll eventually hear a guy called Higgins jabbering away.
So, go down to where Higgins is, way at the bottom of the pit. There’ll be some climbing down ladders, but I’m sure you can manage. The third Guide to Mechanical Engineering is resting close to him. All that’s left to do is go back to Thomas Kemp and hand the quest in. And don’t dilly-dally; go and complete the quest. There are some potential choices you might make that just might make doing so more difficult. I’m not sure about that, but just in case.
