How to Exit Underground in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

To exit or leave the Underground in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl or BDSP, press Y. As I’ve said, the game tells you what you need to do when you first use the Explorer Kit after talking to the Underground Man. The first NPC you meet in the caves (Roark, the guy with the red helmet) explains how you can leave at any time you choose. So, if you missed it, here’s what you need to do it: Press Y. This will bring up a small menu on the right side of the screen. Your options are Grand Underground Map, Go Up, and Close. Obviously, you need to choose Go Up. The game will then ask you if you want to return to the surface from where you entered. If you do, just select Yes.

That’s how to leave / exit the Underground in Pokemon BDSP or Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. You can do it at absolutely any time you want. Just keep in mind that it will take you back to the place where you went down in the first place; it won’t take you up to the spot which corresponds with the above-ground location. So, if you go underground in Eterna City and explore all the way to, say, Hearthome, exiting the tunnels will take you all the way back to Eterna.
