How to Purify Shadow Pokemon in Pokemon Go?

To purify Shadow Pokemon in Pokemon Go, after catching one, tap on it in the menu. Once you’re in their Information Screen, tap the Purify button. You can find said button just above the one that you use to power up your Pokemon. It’s gonna cost you some Candy and some Stardust, because of course it does. But, yeah, that’s all there is to it.

Now, you might be wondering why you’d want to purify the Shadow Pokemon in the first place. Well, for one, their CP is significantly lower before you do, so there’s that. Second, Purified Pokemon require way less resources to power up and / or evolve. Thirdly, they also learn the Return normal attack. It’s not the best of attacks, especially for non-Normal type Pokemon, but you can exchange it for something else.

But, yeah, bottom line: even if you just end up milling the Team Rocket Pokemon for Candy, you might want to consider purifying them first. Up to you, really.

How to Get Pokemon Go Shadow Pokemon?

To get Shadow Pokemon in Pokemon Go, the first order of business is to find a Pokestop where you can fight Team Rocket. The battle against them works more or less exactly like it would against any Gym Leader. Once you emerge victorious, they’ll book it, and leave a Shadow Pokemon. Now, all that’s left for you to do is to capture it. That’s kinda easier said than done,. because you will need Premier Balls in order to catch them.

And that’s it. When you manage to nab the Shadow Pokemon, you can then purify it if you so wish. Or, you know, do whatever else you want with them, I’m not your mother. Ultimately, whether these Pokemon are worth the resources, aka Premier Balls and stuff you need to purify them, is up to you to decide with each individual one of them.
