How to get Pokemon GO Special Items

If you wonder where to find Pokemon GO Special Items, you don’t have to go out of your way to get these evolution items. Like all other items, you can collect them by spinning the Photo Disc at a PokeStop. Note, however, that the Pokemon GO Evolution Items drop rate is very low. You’ll have to get lucky, that’s all there is to it. Completing a seven-day PokeStop streak seems to increase the chances of a drop on the seventh day, according to trainers, so that might help.

Bottom line, there’s no definite way to know if you’ll get any Evolution item or not. You just have to keep spinning those PokeStops and hope for the best.

How to Use Pokemon GO Gen 2 Special Evolution Items

Special items allow you to evolve several of your Gen 1 Pokemon in new directions, or even grant evolution to Pokemon that didn’t have any before. They can even affect the evolution Gen 2 Pokemon, specifically Sunkern.

There’s no special science for using these Pokemon GO Gen 2 special items, either. Just pick the evolution you want from the menu, and the game will do the rest itself. You’ll use up the item and the required amount of Candy automatically. Oh, yes, the Pokemon Go Special Evolution item is not enough, you’ll still need to have the Candy as well. The necessary amount varies from evolution to evolution, of course.

Below, you can see all of the Evolution items, which evolutions they grant, and how many Candies you’ll need for each.

  • Dragon Scale
    • Kingdra – Seadra + 100 Horsea Candy
  • King’s Rock
    • Politoed – Poliwhirl + 100 Oddish Candy
    • Slowking – Slowpoke + 50 Slowpoke Candy
  • Metal Coat
    • Steelix – Onix + 50 Onix Candy
    • Scizor – Scyther + 50 Scyther Candy
  • Sun Stone
    • Bellossom – Gloom + 100 Oddish Candy
    • Sunflora – Sunkern + 50 Sunflora Candy
  • UpGrade
    • Porygon 2 – Porygon + 50 Porygon Candy

Hopefully, this will clear up any doubts you might be having. Feel free to share your experiences in the comments. Good luck, trainers!
