Usually, the various Stone items you can get in Pokemon games serve to kickstart a Pokemon’s evolution. When the Pokemon in question holds one of these Stones, it will then immediately evolve into its advanced form. This isn’t true for the Everstone. In fact, it’s just the opposite. As its name suggests, this item can actually be used to prevent a Pokemon from evolving. Now, while you may think this is a counter-productive thing to do, it can actually have several very useful applications in the game. We’re going to cover all of its uses, as well as where and how to get the Everstone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet right here in this in-depth guide.
Where to Find Everstone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
The Everstone is one of the easier items to get in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. To obtain it, all you need to do is to head to the nearest Delibird Presents shop. Unlike other evolution stones that require you to get six badges before they become available for purchase in the shops, the Everstone is available right from the start. It is found under General Items there and you can pursue it for a mere 3000 Pokedollars.
Once you get it, you can give it to a Pokemon to hold, and it won’t evolve – even when it meets all the prerequisites to do so. So what is the point of doing that? Well, the Everstone’s primary use has to do with Pokemon breeding. Namely, when you want to make sure that the Pokemon Egg is going to inherit the Nature of the parent you want it to, you can give that parent the Everstone. Doing this guarantees that the Pokemon Egg is going to inherit precisely that nature and not the other parent’s.
