The Evil Within 2 Red Band Launch Trailer Released

The launch of Evil Within 2 is just around the corner. Depending on your time zone, it might only be hours away. The new game from the mind of Shinji Mikami is a direct sequel to the first Evil Within. It picks up about three years after the previous game left off. After the events of The Evil Within 1, a despondent Sebastian Castellanos has become an alcoholic. He had been let go from the police department, and nobody believes his stories of the horrors he countered in the STEM world. He gets kicked back into action after his partner Juli Kidman lets him know that his daughter Lily, thought to have died in a fire, is still alive. Mobius is using her mind to make another STEM World, Union.

There are brand new monstrosities to face, including Sebastian’s inner fears, as well as conjurations of a deranged photographer and crazed preacher. We get to see several different horrors that will be making our lives difficult in the new Evil Within 2 red band launch trailer. There’s all manners of hellish mutants, Lovecrafitan eldritch horrors that shouldn’t exist, and a pretty gratuitous shot of Lily with a gruesomely burnt face. It’s pretty unpleasant, to say the least.

The Evil Within 2 comes out worldwide on Friday, October 13th, 2017, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The release in Japan will happen a few days after, on Thursday, October 19th. You can check out the red band launch trailer below. Fair warning, there is some pretty grizzly imagery in here. Viewer discretion is advised.
