Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Thundra Plateau Secret Cave Puzzle Solution

The solution to the Thundra Plateau Secret Cave puzzle in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom or TOTK is to make the shadow of the southern pillar reach the northern pillar in the circle. The southern pillar is at the coordinates -2264, 0878, 0110, and as you can plainly tell, its shadow is nowhere near long enough to reach across. So, what you have to do is cut down two of the mushroom-like trees and connect their trunks into a pillar of your own. You need it to be four logs long, or else it won’t work. The next step is optional, but you can attach a Zonai Stake at the bottom. Now, use Ultrahand and lean it lengthwise onto the southern pillar.

The next step to the Thundra Plateau Secret Cave puzzle solution in Zelda TOTK or Tears of the Kingdom is to get to the top of the southern pillar. Pick the thing you made up with Ultrahand, turn it stake-side down and stick it into the center of the pillar. Drop to the ground, make a fire and rest until noon. Then, it’s just a matter of waiting for the shadow to line up with the northern pillar. This will open the stone slab in the middle, allowing you access into the secret cave. If you didn’t attach a stake earlier, then you’ll have to stand on top of the southern pillar and hold your pillar aloft with Ultrahand. That’s all there is to it.
