MK11 Won't Feature Ash from Evil Dead, According to Bruce Campbell

It seems that Ash from Evil Dead won’t be one of the DLC characters in Mortal Kombat 11. This info has come from none other than the man himself, Bruce Campbell. The man who brought the character of Ash to life. So, yeah, it doesn’t get more from-the-horse’s-mouth than that.

As we’ve covered two weeks ago, dataminers found various character dialogue lines, which seem to hint at potential DLC characters. Among them where the embodiment of nineties edgelords Spawn, the Terminator, The Joker, and Ash from Evil Dead. If you have no idea who the latter is, go watch the Evil Dead trilogy right the hell now. Anyway, all four characters would fit the over-the-top, comical violence of the Mortal Kombat franchise. So far, so good. But, unfortunately, it seems that not all of these are meant to be.

Of all people, Bruce Campbell himself, the man who played Ash in the movies and the Ash vs Evil Dead series, chimed in on Twitter. And a weird image he did tweet. It shows Campbell in an old-school Mortal Kombat, apparently turning “internet rumor about Ash being DLC in MK11” into a puddle of blood. The text he added simply says: “Consider this my finishing move against a certain internet rumor.” The image is absolutely on brand for Mr. Campbell, but it is a bit of a let-down. I certainly was hoping to see Ash cross his chainsaw hand with the cast of Mortal Kombat. AS for the other characters, well, we’ll have to wait and see.

Incidentally, if you’re having trouble with the game, we have a whole bunch of Mortal Kombat 11 guides for you to check out. Among other articles, we’ve got Cleansing Stone Konsumable – How to Get and Kombat Kard Character Name Background – How to Get, among others.
