Fuser Announcement Trailer Reveals New Music-Based Game

The creators of Rock Band & Dance Central are at it again. They’ve created Fuser, a “nonstop virtual music festival where you control the music.” Basically, the game allows you to “combine elements of the world’s most popular songs to create your own sound or partner with friends on epic collaborations,” and then “share your amazing mixes and headlining performances with the world.”

Fuser Announcement Trailer Reveals New Music-Based Game

The basis of Fuser is right there in the name. The idea is, you mix vocals, bass lines and other instruments between different songs from different genres to create something new. Then, of course, they encourage you to share your creations with others. In the words of Steve Janiak, CEO of Harmonix puts it: “FUSER puts players at the center of all that by letting you mix and share some of the biggest hits on your way to becoming a festival headliner.”

Now, of course, every game of this type lives or dies by the songs it has. I’m glad to say that Fuser seems to include some fantastic songs. The track list includes new hits like Old Town Road, Bad Guy, Stir Fry, Better Now, Good as Hell, Born This Way etc. There’s also older, classic songs, like Rock the Casbah by The Clash, Don’t Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult, Rockafeller Skank by Fatboy Slim, and, of course, All Star by Smash Mouth. In total, there will be over 100 songs in Fuser, so there’s bound to be something for everybody.

So, there you have it. One more thing we have to add is that the game is coming out in the fall of this year; there’s no exact launch date just yet. In the meantime, you can check out the announcement trailer below. It’s not exactly bursting with gameplay, I’ll give you that, but it’s not supposed to. It’s supposed to drum up interest for the game, and honestly, it does look fun and colorful.
