How to Solve Alone in the Dark Perosi’s Room Puzzle – Zodiac Lock and Rot Painting Puzzle

To solve the puzzle in Perosi’s room in Alone in the Dark, before you can even think about the zodiac lock and the paintings with rot, you need to pick up Perosi’s journal from the green couch in the corner. Open it, and you’ll notice that the zodiac signs are numbered, starting with Aquarius as number one. The numbers go up clockwise. Okay, now go to the six paintings in the opposite corner. Flip them over so that the black rot is facing out on every one of them. This will reveal three names: William Arges, Franklyn Mosig and Nora Keith.

The next step to solve the puzzle in Perosi’s room in Alone in the Dark is to make a 180 turn and look to your left. You’ll see another picture, which features the members of a long-gone artist colony. You’ll notice that it has the names of the people you discovered earlier, and they have numbers above them. The order is 2,9,4. Now we cross-reference those with the numbered zodiac in Perosi’s journal, and we finally get to the solution: Pisces, Libra, Taurus. Go back to the lock and spin the wheels to the correct combination. Boom, you’re done. All of that said: I’m not sure whether these numbers change in subsequent playtroughs. They didn’t for me, but they might for you. However, the method of solving it will not change, so now that you know what to do, you’ll always be good to go.
