Is There VR in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora?

Let’s start with the answer right away. No, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora currently doesn’t have any VR support. The game is simply not designed to be played with virtual reality devices. Each and every Massive developer is currently focused on creating the best possible single-player and co-op experience that will meet the expectations of both Avatar fans and fans of Ubisoft’s open-world games. Hence, given the huge expectations, every person in Massive Entertainment is working on delivering that experience. Consequently, on launch, you will only be able to play on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S with a monitor or TV.

However, what about any potential future support for VR? Unfortunately, things look rather bleak here as well. If we take a look at Ubisoft’s track record in this regard, you will find no reasons for optimism. Namely, none of the recent Ubisoft games, such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla or Far Cry 6, have received official VR support. They are currently only working on games specifically created for VR, such as Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR.

Hence, don’t get your hopes up about it – it’s probably not going to happen. Nevertheless, we might get to play Avatar Frontiers of Pandora VR via some unofficial mods on PC. Tools such as VorpX Desktop Viewer can be a solution, but it will probably not work on Day 1. We will make sure to update the article once we learn more about VR support for Avatar Frontiers of Pandora.
