Since it was released at the beginning of August, Baldur’s Gate 3 has received several patches. These patches solved hundreds of bugs, including broken quest triggers, graphical glitches, various combat issues, and much more. Recently, Larian rolled out their latest patch, titled Hotfix 4. Several hours later, the BG3 Hotfix 4 was rolled back to a previous version, due to some major issues it inadvertently introduced to the game. If you are wondering what this all means, and when Hotfix 4 is going to get re-released, we have all of the currently known info concerning this issue right here.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Hotfix 4 Rolled Back
A short while after Hotfix 4 was released, users started reporting that they were experiencing constant crashes. Apparently, there was a build issue with the patch that caused this. And, since it is a massive issue that basically makes the game almost unplayable, the decision was made by Larian Studios to roll back this hotfix. This means that the game was rolled back to its previous (and much more stable) version. Unfortunately, this also means that all of the fixes and changes that came with Hotfix 4 are now also gone and that Hotfix 4 has been delayed.
When is Hotfix 4 Coming Back to BG3
At the time of writing this article, we still don’t know when Hotfix 4 is going to be fixed up and re-released. Though, given Larian’s commitment to constant patching and updates to the game, we most likely won’t have to wait too long for this to happen. In the meantime, if you have made significant progress in the game while playing on Hotfix 4, you won’t be able to load saves made on Hotfix 4. If that is the case, then it’s our recommendation that you wait until Hotfix 4 is repaired and released again to continue playing.
