Special Weapons in COD Warzone

COD Warzone Special Weapons are a new type of weapon added to the game, following a few cues from Black Ops Cold War. These special weapons have been causing some confusion among Call of Duty Warzone players, mostly because they aren’t as neatly placed as they are in Cold War. Plus, one of them, the Nail Gun, requires you to use other special weapons to unlock it. That’s why we’ve put together our Special Weapons in COD Warzone guide to explain what they are, and how to get the Nail Gun.

What are COD Warzone Special Weapons

Special weapons in COD Warzone are, well, a newly-added type of weapon scattered around several categories. Allow me to explain. In Black Ops Cold War, special weapons are a completely separate category of secondary weapons. Since Warzone doesn’t have that, the developers decided to assign the special weapons into several different categories, making things a bit muddled. When it comes to Warzone, there are four special weapons that you can get: the M79 Grenade Launcher, the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow, the Ballistic Knife, and the Nail Gun. Of the four, the Nail Gun is of special interest because of the way you unlock it, so let’s get into that for a hot second.

How to Get Nail Gun in Call of Duty Warzone

To get the COD Warzone Nail Gun you have to score five eliminations in fifteen different completed matches, using special weapons. This is a bit of a pickle for several reasons. For one, they don’t make it super-clear which weapons fall under the category. Well, we’ve gotten that part out of the way. More importantly, perhaps, is that this challenge seems to have been designed for Cold War. It will be pretty difficult to pull this feat off in Warzone, given the drastic difference in the nature of the games. Playing Plunder might be the easiest way to go about it. Or, if you own Cold War, just unlock it there and transfer it over to Warzone. It will make things immeasurably simpler.
