One of the solutions for the “can’t open social tab” error in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 is shared by a Steam user that goes by the name Francis. “Click the headset on the top right and create a channel then invite friends through there that’s the solution for now,” he wrote on Steam forums.
So there you have it, If you have the social bug, create a voice channel and invite your friends through that menu. Hey guys – IF YOU WANT TO ADD NEW FRIENDS (CROSSPLATFORM) another small workaround, if you have previous COD games or even the previous Warzone, you can login and go to your socials tab and add new friends there through the search. After which you can log back into the game and use the headset icon to invite to your party!!

If you have mw2 already get in a quick match look at social and it should work you can join from there , should get paid for this

Pay to win, unless you buy the main game you’re always going to be playing with randos. Despite the hundreds of dollars I spent in the WZ1 store that they’re about to wipe out, they need a couple more bucks to make the new game playable.

Its the error message that pops up when you try to access social
It’s true actually. My friend who was initially planning to play Warzone 2 came across the social bug. We couldn’t play with each other and if I sent him a steam invite to the DMZ lobby and clicks on the join button, he gets a message that he needs to purchase MW2 first to join the session.

There isn’t an option to invite via the party chat tab
Yes there is you create a channel invite them to that then invite them to lobby through the channel.
it doesn’t work it when i try to invite or join them it says that i can’t because i’m on a different version than them
If you remember their gamertags, going into the headphone tab for party channels and click “invite”, then you can scroll through your recent players list and invite them to ur party.
