Can’t Call Nancy in Killing in The Name – How to Start Cyberpunk 2077 Nancy Side Job?

If you can’t call Nancy and figure out how to start the Cyberpunk 2077 Killing in the Name side job, you might not have progressed far enough with Johnny’s story. Specifically, you have to complete the Chippin’ In side job for him, where you meet up with Rogue. I’m not gonna spoil much of what happens there, just know that you have to complete the Tapeworm quest first, by progressing far enough through the main story. During Chippin’ In, you’ll be able to find a ton of Johnny’s old stuff for the Breathtaking trophy, including his old Porsche 911.

Once you complete Chippin’ In, you should be able to call Nancy and proceed with Killing in the Name. You’d think you’d be on easy street now, but oh no. There are several more problems you might encounter, so let’s dive into those, shall we?

Killing in the Name Cyberpunk 2077 Can’t Hack into Router Bug – How to Jack into Router?

If you can’t hack the router in Killing in the Name in Cyberpunk 2077, and can’t figure out how to solve the jack into the router bug, there are two things that you can try. The first one is to check whether your cyberware OS lets you quickhack. For example, operating systems like Berserk do not let you perform quickhacks. If that is the case, head to your nearest ripperdoc and swap your OS out for a more hacker-friendly one.

If that doesn’t work, then you’ve definitely run into a pretty bad bug. Fortunately, the router hack bug in CP2077 Killing in the Name does have a potential workaround, annoying as though it may be. Said fix is to reload a save before you started the mission. Then, go to Nancy’s coordinates, and make sure to do two things: one, talk to Johnny when he appears on the blue van without skipping through his lines, and two, do not interact with any NPCs whatsoever. This should let you properly scan the area and interact with the router.

If Johnny is not appearing on the blue van for you, then you’re in trouble again. Attempting to mess with the router without talking to Johnny bugs the mission out completely. Is there something you can do about that? Well…

Johnny Not Appearing in Cyberpunk 2077 Killing in the Name Bug – How to Fix?

To fix the bug where Johnny’s not appearing in Cyberpunk 2077 Killing in the Name side job, you have to load in an older save, from before accepting the mission. This is the only thing that we know of that can jumpstart Johnny to spawn on top of the blue van when you visit Nancy’s coordinates, and this is necessary to avoid the router bug described above. Again, make sure to talk with Johnny all the way; do not fast forward through any of it. Also, do not touch any of the NPCs you might see in the area, because that too can mess things up.

That’s about all we’ve got at the moment. If you have any other potential fixes for this mess of a quest, by all means, leave them in the comments. Both we and the community are gonna be very grateful.
