It can be acquired early on or later in the game. It all depends on how well you are acquainted with the hanging bridges in Dark Souls games. Nonetheless, it takes a bit of coordination to reach the spell’s area, called the Depths of the Painting. In this guide, we’re going to show you how to get Snap Freeze spell in Dark Souls 3.

Snap Freeze Location

The Snap Freeze sorcery spell is hidden in the Depths of the Painting area. This is where you can also find and fight one of the two DLC bosses – Champion’s Gravetender.

To reach this part of the DLC, you first have to find the Ariandel Chapel. A long, wooden bridge leads to this building. As it usually is with long wooden bridges in Dark Souls, you can collapse it. Do it from the chapel side. Once it is destroyed, an option to descend will appear. Use the ladder to go down. From here, you’ll need to find your way to the bottom of the zone. The large roots used for that purpose are also home to several enemies. At the end of this route, there is a large, dark enemy. He will shoot exploding arrows toward you. This makes descending to the ground level a bit more challenging.

Now we are on the ground floor. Go to your left from here, toward the giant crabs. Keep to your left once you’re behind them. There is a narrow pathway you should go through. Watch out for the tree enemies. At the end of the road, there is a crying tree. If you make this tree move, by drawing its attention, it will reveal the whereabouts of the Snap Freeze spell.
