For the week of October 28th – November 4th you will have the option of playing the Nexus strike as part of your weekly heroic and nightfall challenges. These weekly challenges are designed to be played in a group of 32 players from level 22-28 for weekly heroic strike and lvl 28+ for nightfall weekly strike version.

Many guardians like to attempt these solo, without a group and this is a tough task. The Nexus strike is doable solo with a little help of some special positioning during the fight with the end boss and if you pay attention to some of the tougher parts of the strike. In this guide we will go through all the parts of the strike you need to pay special attention to and how to find the right spot to defeat the last boss – Sekrion, Nexus Mind. We will focus on explaining how to do this solo in Nightfall mode (which means that you are not allowed to die – dying resets you back to orbit!), but the same applies to weekly heroic with the only difference being that the enemies are easier to kill.

Heroic and Nightfall setup

This week Void damage is greatly increased in both Heroic and Nightfall weekly. Nightfall also has the Juggler modifier which means that dead enemies do not drop ammo for your currently equipped weapon. The Nexus Weekly heroic nightfall

How to kill the servitors

The first challenge you will face is killing three servitors. These spawn in a semi open area once you first enter the Darkness. First you get a wave of regular mobs. Once you kill those the first servitor will spawn with about 10 more enemies of different kind. Last wave brings two servitors at once, each having its own mobs guarding it. There is a great spot you can stand in where most mobs will not be able to hit you and you will be able to take down both servitors and accompanying mobs one by one. You should get there at the very beginning before any mobs spawn. Go up to the second floor via the only stairs in the area that go thigh up. Once all the way there you should be on a small platform with closed door next to you. If you crouch there you will be able to shoot the mobs, that will stay down bellow, through the railing. Stay crouched before you will get hit less that way. Video bellow will show you where exactly to stand and how servitors spawn. They almost always show up in the same spot. First servitor can be killed when he peaks through the door that leads in top the room hew is patrolling. Second servitor will stand almost directly bellow the platform you are on and you can easily target him if you approach the edge of the platform. Third will spawn in an open area and you should be able to take him down as well from the same position. IMPORTAN NOTE: the moment you kill the third servitor you should take out your heavy weapon because three melee mobs will show up through the door that was locked up until then on the same platform you are standing on. Kill them asap. Afterwards yolu can try and skip the remaining mobs by running past all of them to your next position.

Handling the vex before the boss

After you are done with the fallen and their servitors you will start facing the Vex. It is pretty important that you know exactly where they are because, although they are not that tough, they can ambush you and kill you. First, you will face three Goblins fighting with the remaining fallen. Easy kill after which you should go downstairs. Downstairs you will find three harpies. Stay on top of the stairs and kill the harpies (two void sniper shots should do the trick or three Ice Breaker shots). Slowly go down the stairs looking to your left. You will see a door there and several goblins beyond that door. Two of those goblins have yellow health bars and they are very dangerous because they shoot high damage rockets. You should use your sniper to kill them if they are visible. Sometimes they already move to the middle of the outside area so use that time to kill regular goblins that are to the left. After you are sure there is none ambushing you from the left, turn to your right and peak out until you see the right door and goblins there. These are regular goblins so you can shoot them any way you want. I would next recommend you go to the left door and slowly peak out with your void damage sniper or void heavy guns. Your no.1 priority here is to kill the yellow health bar, rocket launching, goblins. If they are not in plain sight slowly move out of cover and you should see two yellow health bar hobgoblins and two rocket launching Minotaur. Minotaur are not the scariest thing here actually – it is the hobgoblins and rocket launching goblins. Take those down first if you can and finish of the Minotaur with your heavy guns. Video bellow will show this whole section in detail.

Once you are done with this section enter through the door carefully because there are 6 goblins waiting for you there. As you go deeper inside the cave you will come across two large groups of goblins that are easy to kill and all you have left is the boss.

How to kill the last boss in the weekly Nexus strike – Sekrion

If you plan on doing this boss like you would normally, if you had a group with you there, in no way will you be able to do it. You will have to position yourself in places of the map where the boss can’t reach you with his rockets. Sekrion is surrounded by Minotaur that shoot high damage rockets. Once you kill these the boss drops down from his special spot and starts launching volleys of rockets at your position while having an impenetrable shield that rotates and leaves half of him vulnerable.
There are three spots you can get to that allow you to shoot at the boss while staying shielded from his rockets. One is the spot from where he drops, and this can be reached by jumping on a really tall column, located bellow your starting point and to the left, and than onto where the boss is getting assembled. Second spot is to the right and you have to reach it by doing a good jump, than jumping across some more walls (kill the Minotaur along the way) and into a small spot behind a wall where Minotaur can’t reach you and you have a spot to hide from boss’ damage. Third spot is to the left and you need to have very long distance jumps to make it there. In the video bellow we’ll show you some of these methods because video will show it much better than we could explain it with words. I recommend you practice any of these jumps in the lowest difficulty weekly before you attempt the jumps in nightfall difficulty.

Gosu Tip: Change your build so you have a lot of agility. This will make your jumps longer and it will be easier to reach far away spots.

All you are left with is shooting at the boss whenever you have the opportunity and collecting the bountiful rewards at the end. It took many tries for me to do it solo but I managed to do it in the end and I hope this guide helps you achieve the same.
