Far Cry’s main idea is again the character’s transition from being the hunted one to becoming a hunter. It is a common Far Cry theme and the basis for all of their games. Throughout the game, the character fights both humans and animals. Since one of the tribes featured in the game is cannibalistic, the developers believe fighting beasts will be as difficult as fighting humans.

Oros, the game’s location, is described as beautiful, fruitful, but also dangerous and unpredictable. Ubisoft invested a lot into the nature, since they feel it is the essence of all of their games. They say:
For us it’s always been important to have nature be bigger than man. [It was] a time when everyone was competing for food and man was definitely not at the top of the food chain.
A new concept that was not present in other games is weapon crafting. While in previous installments it was possible to craft medications, here you are forced to make your weapons from various materials. This adds another layer of difficulty to the game. The developers have created a wide variety of weapons for the player to make and use.

The game will feature diverse ecosystems, a day-night cycle, as well as rival hunters. These factors will all affect the gameplay in a number of ways, so the player must adapt in order to survive.

This latest Far Cry installment is set to be released on February 23rd on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the PC version will be available on March 1st.
