In God of War Ragnarok, you will often come across things that you won’t be able to solve and figure out when you first encounter them. Yellow cracks emitting from stones are one such mystery. When you discover them for the first time, your first instinct will be to try and break them. But you will soon discover that this isn’t possible. At least, not right now. So how to break these yellow cracks in God of War Ragnarok? Well, you need to get the right tool for the job, and we are going to explain what this item is, where you can find it, and how to use it to smash these gold cracks.

How to Break the Yellow Cracks in God of War Ragnarok

During your God of War Ragnarok playthrough, you will come across these stones with Yellow Cracks in several places. The game won’t mark them on your map, but they are pretty striking, with bright gold light emitting from the cracks in the stone. So, obviously, they represent something important. You won’t be able to break them until much later in the game, once you get Draupnir. We explain where and how to find the Draupnir Spear in this guide. But basically, once you acquire this Tertiary Weapon, you are going to be able to use it to do things you weren’t able to before. Breaking Gold Cracks is one of these things.

To do this, stand in front of a Yellow Crack Stone and throw your Draupnir Spear directly at it. After that, detonate the spear that you have embedded in the Gold Crack Stone. This will break open the Yellow Crack Stone. Breaking open these stones will allow you to progress to places that you weren’t able to before. So whenever you see one of these Yellow Cracks, be sure to break it using the Draupnir Spear.
