Apex Legends Gift a Friend Disabled – Why is Gifting not Working?

So, why is gifting not working in Apex Legends currently? Well, we have good news and bad news. The good news is that this is neither a bug nor an issue on your side. The fact that you currently can not gift a friend in Apex Legends is intended. However, the bad news is that there is some unspecified issue which was serious enough to force the developers to temporarily turn off the gifting feature. This has been confirmed by the developers via Respawn’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.

“We’ve temporarily disabled gifting in Apex while we investigate an issue” reads the official tweet. “During this time, you will no longer see the option to gift items to players on your friends list.” So there you have it, now you know what’s going on. The gift option is temporarily disabled because there’s an issue to be fixed.

When is Gift a Friend Coming Back to Apex?

Unfortunately, we don’t currently have an answer to this. Respawn didn’t provide any dates, nor did they reveal the scope of the issue. Hence, we simply don’t have enough information to even speculate about the possible date. Nevertheless, we will follow the situation closely and as soon as there’s some official information in this regard, we will make sure to update our article.
