How to Fix Content Warning Voice Chat Not Working

There are several potential fixes for the situation where voice chat is not working for you in Content Warning. The first thing you can try is to head into game’s settings from the main menu. Open the Audio tab specifically. The first option there lets you select which microphone your using. If you have more than one plugged in (say, a desk mic and a headset with a mic), be sure to select the one you actually want to use. Below that, you can choose between Push to Talk and Voice Detection. In the case of the former, you have to manually press V (by default) to open your microphone. If that’s not working as it should, consider switching to Voice Detection.

If the voice chat is still not working for you in Content Warning, Alt+Tab to the desktop and right-click the speaker icon in the bottom right. Click Open Sound Settings, then Sound Control Panel on the right side of the new window. Once again, make sure that the right microphone is selected. And if the problem still persists, exit the game, then exit Steam completely. I don’t just mean hitting the X button at the top, I mean opening the Task Manager and shutting Steam off from there. Restart Steam and hop back into Content Warning. Is the voice chat working now? If it isn’t, then doing a fresh install of the game is the last recourse.
