Granblue Fantasy Relink DualSense Controller Not Working on PC

Granblue Fantasy Relink departures from its predecessor when it comes to combat. The original game featured a more traditional turn-based JRPG combat, while the sequel boasts real-time action RPG combat. As such, many PC players will play the game with a controller as well. However, at launch, it seems that a number of players are encountering various issues when playing Granblue Fantasy Relink with a controller on Steam. In particular, the PS5 DualSense controller strikes us as the biggest culprit. These issues range from not reacting to inputs, to not showing layouts or not working completely. Some players report that the vibration is also not working properly.

“I am having an issue using a PS5 controller where the vibration/rumble just happens at random intervals and is not tied to any action,” wrote Reddit user xanthira222. Another user, who goes by the name BlackCatSenPai, says, “The game uses a Steam controller instead of a PS5, even though I adjusted the Steam client settings.” Unfortunately, while you will mostly be fine with playing the game with a PS5 controller, you should know that the game doesn’t have native support for it. Hence, Granblue Fantasy Relink will not show PlayStation buttons while playing on Steam, even if you use a PS5 gamepad. It’s slightly frustrating, but it’s unavoidable.

When it comes to problems with vibration, for now, it seems that the only solution is to turn it off completely. The game has issues communicating to the controller when to vibrate when playing on Steam. Thus, the safest solution is to play without vibration until the developers fix this. For now, that’s all we can say about Granblue Fantasy Relink controller issues on PC. If we stumble upon any other solutions, we will make sure to update our article.
