NBA 2K22 is out and besides the usual assortment of changes, a significant addition is the Dunk Meter, with many players wondering how to use this new system. In previous NBA 2k titles, dunking was performed in a much different way, so some confusion is to be expected here. And, since we all know how much fun is to dunk, our How to Use Dunk Meter in NBA 2K22 guide will tell you everything you need to know about this meter, so that you can start performing some truly awesome dunks.
How to Use Dunk Meter NBA 2K22
When you go for the dunk in NBA 2K22 with the Right Stick, you will see a circle with the letter R inside it. While you hold the Right Stick, this circle will fill up with a yellow color until it reaches a green part near the end of the circle. In this green part, there is a thin white line. The purpose of the Dunk Meter is to hit this white line. Now, this may take some getting used to, since your first instinct is probably to let go as soon as you reach the green section. However, doing so will get you early and late dunks. The game will let you know if your timing was off with a prompt at the top of the screen. If you execute it perfectly, it should always go in.
An important thing to note here is that this will fail if you try to dunk with the Square. There are two other factors that also impact your ability to dunk in the game. The first of these is how much stamina your character has. Naturally, if their stamina is low, they have less chance to dunk properly. The second is the Contact Finisher Badge. The higher this has been upgraded, the more likely you will be able to execute a dunk in the first place.
