Underground Passage Diablo 2 Resurrected - How to Get to Dark Wood

In the first Act of Diablo 2 Resurrected, the main story will take you through an Underground Passage tp the Dark Wood, which is required if you want to save Deckard Cain. This is part of the Search for Cain quest, which you will unlock after completing the Sisters’ Burial Grounds quest. Akara will explain that only the Horadrim Sage Deckard Cain knows enough about the arcane lore to be able to advise them on what they need to do. However, unlike all the D2 Resurrected quests up until now which have been fairly straightforward, this one involves a bit more work. If you are having trouble solving it, our Underground Passage Diablo 2 Resurrected – How to Get to Dark Wood guide will help you figure out what you need to do.

Underground Passage Diablo 2 Resurrected

Where is The Underground Passage in Diablo 2 Resurrected – Dark Wood

The Underground Passage which leads to the Dark Wood can be found in Stony Field. Since the maps in D2 Resurrected are randomized, we can’t show you the exact location, but go through this whole area and you will eventually find it. The entrance itself looks like a hole leading to an underground cavern. The Underground Passage has two levels. To entrance to the Dark Wood can be found on the first level, so if you are rushing to complete this quest, you don’t have to go to the second level. So, as soon as you have found the way to Dark Wood, go there. In the Dark Wood, you will need to locate the Tree of Inifuss. Interacting with this Tree will give you the Scroll of Inifuss. You then need to take this back to Akara.

After this, return to the Stony Field and search for the Cairn Stones. You will need to touch these in the correct sequence. This sequence is on the Scroll of Inifuss, so follow its instructions. Once this is done, a portal to Tristram will open. Go through it, and you will find Deckard Cain in the middle of the destroyed town. It’s very much worth saving him, since he will then identify items for free.
