Injustice 2 Brainiac Story Trailer - Shattered Alliances Pt. 5

The new story trailer for Injustice 2, Shattered Alliances 5, is out on the official YouTube channel. In the video, we get to see the arrival of Brainiac, the true Big Evil of the game. He comes to Earth in search of Superman, but instead finds an entire planet to conquer and destroy.

The new Shattered Alliances story trailer for Injustice 2 reveals the true threat to the world. Previously, we’ve written about the Injustice 2 The Society trailer, which showed us a group of villains that teamed up to conquer the world after the fall of Superman’s Regime. Meanwhile, the various heroes from the Justice League are at odds, since some still support Superman’s rule.

However, something much worse is coming to Earth – the supervillain Brainiac. He comes to Earth to kill Superman and complete the destruction of Krypton. The trailer showcases the destruction him and his army bring, as well as his pure physical strength. Yes, he might have one of the dumber names in comic book history, but he’s a very serious threat. You can clearly see that he’s more than capable of defeating any hero or villain in combat. If that’s not enough to establish him as a threat, the video also makes it clear that even Superman is afraid of Brainiac.

If you’re unfamiliar with Brainiac as a character, here’s the cliff notes. He’s an incredibly powerful and intelligent creature that travels through the universe looking for worlds to conquer. He collects all of the knowledge he can on a world (hence his nickname Collector of Worlds), and then destroys whatever’s left. He did just that to Krypton, and now he’s hunting for Superman in order to finish the job. However, now he’s set on adding Earth to his collection.

It’ll be interesting to see how the arrival of Brainiac will affect the several warring factions of heroes and villains on Earth. Also, what does Darkseid, another extremely powerful villain, have to do with all of this? We’ll probably have to wait for the game to launch to find out.

Injustice 2 launches on May 16th, 2017 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. They’re also making a mobile companion app for both iOS and Android.
