Monster Hunter Rise Failed To Save Fix

The newest installment in the Monster Hunter franchise – Monster Hunter Rise – is now officially out on the PC. True to its name, MHR also revolves around hunting down and killing powerful, oversized monsters. Unfortunately, many Steam players have run into a huge problem while trying to play the game. Namely, when MHR is supposed to make a save game file, it fails to do so. You will get a “Failed to Save” error instead. Of course, it should go without saying that this makes the game borderline impossible to play. How to Fix Failed to Save Bug in Monster Hunter Rise

As mentioned, there are several things you can do to fix the Monster Hunter Rise Failed to Save bug. To begin, let’s start with the simplest one – verifying the integrity of the game files. Open Steam and go into the Library section, then right-click the game. Select “Properties” and click “Local Files.” There, you’ll find the “Verify Integrity of Game Files” option. After you select it, Steam will go through the process of verifying the files. It’ll take a few minutes, and after it’s done, try playing the game again. If it doesn’t work, time to go to the next step.

That would be to run the game as an administrator. Again, right-click the game in the Steam library and navigate to Local Files as explained above. This time, select “Browse Local Files” and find the .exe file. Right-click that and select Properties, then Compatibility. In that new menu, to hopefully fix the Failed to Save Monster Hunter Rise bug, find and check the box that says “Run this program as an administrator,” and hit Apply. The last step is to restart Steam and attempt to play again.

One of these options should fix the Failed to Save issue, but there’s unfortunately no guarantee that it will. You can also try to reinstall the game on an SSD instead of an HDD, if you have the option, but that might not work, either. However, it is worth a shot. Hopefully, the developers will address the problem on their end as soon as possible.
