Co-op Mode in Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord

Is co-op possible in Bannerlord?

Not at the moment, no. You can see on the Steam store page that the game supports single player and online PvP. This means you can either play it by yourself, or engage others in battle online, but you can’t work together towards a common goal. As far as we know, this doesn’t have anything to do with early access – the full game won’t support coop either.

On the bright side, it might be possible to mod co-op into the game – once the game is done and the tools available. There were several attempts to mod coop into the previous games of the series, but the limitations of the modding tools and the scripting language meant there was little success. Bannerlord is supposed to be moddable using C#, which should broaden the possiblities a lot. However, that is still a long ways away.

In summary, don’t count on getting co-op. If it’s just a nice bonus for you, then by all means, go ahead – it might be added as an unofficial mod. If, however, co-op is a crucial pillar of your gaming experiences, you might want to hold off on this one. Do keep an eye on it, though – you never know how things may develop. We’ll update this page with any relevant information we come across.
