Ariana Grande has announced she’s going to appear in a Final Fantasy game, further supporting the theory that all FF characters are pop stars in disguise. The game in question is Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, the popular mobile spin-off that came out shortly before FFXV. Grande’s character will be added in a future update, and will be based on a costume from one of her videos.
Grande shared the news on Twitter, overflowing with positive emotions. She seems to be really excited to be immortalized in a free to play mobile game. A little later, she posted a short video loop of the character’s sprite sheet on Instagram, showing off the moves we can expect to see.
The character’s look is based on her outfit from the Dangerous Woman video – she has a short black dress, high heels, a black bunny mask and long, blonde hair. There’s something like a spotlight in the sprite sheet, suggesting the character might posess some dance moves. There’s also a blue ball of light in some poses, which suggests magic use.
There’s still no word on how the character will be unlocked, or what powers we can expect her to have. The characters (there are rumours suggesting she will be called DW) will be added in an update in the near future.
Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is a free to play game available on Android and iOS. This means you can start playing for free, but you can also spend real money to speed up your progress. It’s a turn based dungeon crawler that revolves around defeating monsters in order to collect cool items and gil.
