Borderlands The Handsome Edition Now Free on Epic Games Store

This weeks mystery free game on the Epic Games Store has been revealed. As it turns out, it’s not just one game, it’s two; Borderlands: The Handsome Edition consists of two Borderlands games and all their accompanying add-on DLCs. All told, that’s well over a hundred hours of looting and shooting that you can get for free in some of the most critically acclaimed games in the genre. Well, one of them, at least.

So, with all that said, what exactly do you get in Borderlands: The Handsome Edition? Well, to begin with, there are two games in the bundle: Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. The first of those is a looter-shooter classic, while the second one isn’t as popular (or good, if we’re being frank), but has an interesting low-gravity element to the gameplay that keeps things fresh. Included in these is cooperative gameplay for up to four players.

On top of that, as we’ve mentioned above, you have all the add-on content for both games that you’d normally have to pay for. This includes more major content, like Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt and Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty, as well as a metric ton of different packs. And that’s just Borderlands 2; The Pre-Sequel also has it’s share of stuff, such as the Shock Drop Slaughter Pit, Lady Hammerlock the Baroness, and more. So, yeah; there’s a lot to sink your teeth into.

Now, personally, I’m not too keen on looter-shooters as a genre in general. I’ve tried the first Borderlands; didn’t end up liking it very much. That said, I’ve never tried Borderlands 3, not to mention the Pre-Sequel. Since both of them are free, I already snatched them, just for a spin. If you want your own free copy of Borderlands: The Handsome Edition, head to its Epic Games Store page.
