FIFA 18 Tops UK Games Sales Chart on Launch Week

FIFA 18 launched a few days ago, on September 29th and many different platforms. You can get it on PS3 and 4, Xbox One and 360, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Seeing as how FIFA is a well-established, long-running series, it’s hardly a surprise that it went straight to the top of the UK gaming sales chart. According to Chart-Track, Xbox One and PS4 sales account for a staggering total of 97% of units sold. Although, considering that this top ten list only takes physical sales into account, this probably just means that the majority of PC players got their game digitally.

Now, even though FIFA 18 has climbed its way to the top of the chart, dethroning Destiny 2, it might not all as rosy as it seems. As Eurogamer reports, the sales so far are down by 25% comapred to the launch week of FIFA 17. True, FIFA 18 launched very late in the week, so the numbers can still go up. And, once again, the numbers here don’t include digital sales, so that’s probably another factor in the 25% “fall” in sales.

As for the rest of the top-ten, the list is pretty much as you’d expect it to be. Destiny 2 is in second place, followed by Forza Horizon 3, NBA 2K18, and GTA V. Crash Bandicoot is still in the top-ten, as well as Uncharted: Lost Legacy, Lego Worlds, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. You can check out the list below.
