After years and years of basketball games, the WNBA will finally be represented in NBA Live 2018. This is a pretty important development for everyone involved. It’s about time for women athletes to get some kind of representation is large sports games, and this will certainly garner a wider market for EA sports. All twelve WNBA teams will be in the game, and some of the major players had motion capture sessions.

The executive producer of the NBA Live series, Sean O’Brien, is proud of this new development. He confirmed his delight in an official statement (via Eurogamer):

We are extremely proud to partner with the WNBA and the Women’s National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA) on this groundbreaking occasion. The WNBA is home to some of the most incredible athletes on the planet, and we’ve been working hard to integrate them into our game in an authentic and meaningful way.

President of WNBA, Lisa Borders, mirrored Sean O’Brien’s sentiment, saying:

We are delighted to collaborate and make history with EA as NBA Live 18 becomes the first video game to feature the WNBA’s full roster of teams and players.

I was sitting in my room one day and I said to myself why they don’t make a WNbA game because womens should be treated just like NBA. I’m really excited to play this game, the graphics looks like 2007 but I guess that’s how its going to look because its yalls first time making the WNBA game so its going to take a little time for the graphic to look a lot better.

Agreed. The graphics look janky, but if this is successful, then hopefully more work will be put in future installments.
