Sniper Elite 5, the next instalment in the iconic WW2 shooter/sniper series is here. Bigger and more immersive than ever before, players will have a chance to experience the good-old skull-crushing gameplay with a host of new features and improvements. Given that the game features multiplayer and is released on all current and last-gen consoles, gamers want to know if Sniper Elite 5 has crossplay support. Here’s what we know about cross-platform and cross-progression in Sniper Elite 5.
Is there Crossplay in Sniper Elite 5?
Do you like to play games with friends? The good news is that Sniper Elite 5 features both online co-op and multiplayer play. But, given that the game is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X/S, the experience will not be complete if there is no crossplay support. Thankfully, developers from Rebellion are aware of this. Thus, Sniper Elite 5 features crossplay supported across all platforms.
Cross-platform will work both between different consoles and across generations. For example, if you game on PC, one of your friends is on an Xbox One, and another on a PS5 – you will all be able to play together. Cross-platform is enabled for both co-op missions and PvP multiplayer. This is perfect for the new mode called Squad Match. Here, four teams of four are matched in a PvPvPvP match. Everyone can play on any platform they want in this match. Finally, it’s important to note that crossplay is completely optional in Sniper Elite 5. It’s enabled by default, but you can always opt out and turn it off if you wish soo.
When it comes to cross-progression, for now, developers have not shared details on will the game support a shared progression across PC and console. We are inclined to think that Sniper Elite 5 will not have cross-progression. But, if that’s not the case, we’ll update the article. With that said, that’s all you need to know about cross-play in Sniper Elite 5.
