Steam Winter Sale 2016 Starting Date Announced

The annual Steam Winter Sale will start on December 22nd, according to Pay Pall UK. That is in just a couple of days. It is yet unknown how long the sale will last. If we were to compare it to last year’s sale, we’d guess it will probably last around two weeks.

Winter Sales are something that we are used to from Steam. During this period, thousands of games and software items are on a great discount. Some people save during the entire year just for this moment. Some of the most famous titles on last year’s sale were: The Witcher and Metal Gear Solid games, Fallout: New Vegas/ Fallout 3, The Evil Within, Just Cause 2 and many more. What can we expect to find this year?

This year was pretty great for AAA games, so we might be in for a treat with all the fresh titles. The games that came out this year include Final Fantasy XV, Dishonored 2, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Doom, Dark Souls III, Titanfall 2, XCOM 2, Watch Dogs 2 and many more.

This year’s sale starts a day later than the previous winter sale. It is also the day when the voting for Steam Awards starts. Every day from December 22nd to December 30th (@10 AM PST), you’ll be able to vote for one title out of five from a specific category. The last day is the only one where four categories will be open for voting. The winners will be announced on New Year’s Eve.

The first category is called: The “Villain Most In Need Of A Hug” Award. The four games in this category are: Borderlands 2, Dead by Daylight, Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4 and Portal 2.

What are your expectations from this year’s Steam Winter Sale? What would you like to see with a lowered price and eventually buy?
