Persona 5 Haru Okumura Trailer Released

Another trailer for Persona 5 has just been released. It introduces the character of Haru Okumura, one of the handful of playable characters that will help you on your journey. The video gives a brief glimpse of her daily life, the struggles she faces in spite of her outward appearance, as well as her Persona, her skills and weapon preferences when it comes to fighting in the Palace.

As is customary for Persona, there’s a duality to everyone. Haru is an heiress, a sheltered young girl who’s led a comfortable life, rarely wanting for anything. At least, that’s what it looks like from the outside. The truth is a bit more complicated than that. Her father is obsessed with control, and she’s not allowed to make even the slightest decisions regarding her own life. The wealth comes at a steep price.

She fights it by taking control of her destiny in the Palace, where she appears as the Beauty Thief. You might’ve already noticed her – she’s dressed in a fairly standard rogue outfit, with a mask and flamboyant hat. She uses axes and grenade launchers to deal damage. We still don’t know much about her sidekick, the cat-like creature that keeps her company in the Palace. It might just be there during story moments, but it also may play a role of its own in the dungeon crawling part of the game.

Persona 5 is going to be released on Playstation 4 and Playstation 3. If previous games are any indication, PC and Xbox owners shouldn’t hold their breath. The launch date is set for April 4th, although the Japanese version has been out for some time already. If you speak the language, you could give it a spin – the original is bound to have better voice acting than the English version. Although, to be fair, the English voiceover seems to be shaping up surprisingly nicely.
