As such, it has appeared in most Pokemon games, and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (better known as Pokemon BDSP for short) is no exception. How to Get Onix in Pokemon BDSP

The earliest location where you will be able to encounter and catch an Onix is inside the Oreburgh Mine. It has about a 10% chance of spawning here, so you might need to do some grinding until you can get it to appear. Besides that location, it also spawns on Iron Island, Snowpoint Temple, Victory Road, Stark Mountain, and the Grand Underground.

How to Evolve Onix Into Steelix Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

The process of evolving an Onix into a Steelix is a particularly interesting one. The first thing that you will need to do is to get the Metal Coat item. Once you have it, give it to the Onix to hold. Then, you need to find someone that you want to trade that Pokemon to. It will then evolve into the Steelix in the other player’s inventory. The player can then trade it back to you. As such, it’s best that you do this with a friend, someone that is guaranteed to trade the newly-evolved Steelix right back to you.
