Alola to Alola Islands Special Research Tasks and Rewards

Before you can choose your Island Path in the Pokemon GO Alola to Alola event, before you can go to Melemele, Akala, Poni or Ula’Ula, you have to complete the first page of the Alola to Alola Special Research. To do that, you have to first catch one Pokemon, then four, then seven. The second page is where you pick your island. Here are the tasks that appear on each island and which rewards you get for finishing them.

  • Melemele Island Page One
    • Catch 10 Pokemon – 5 Razz Berries
    • Make 3 Nice Throws – 15 Great Balls
    • Send 5 Gifts to friends – 1 Poffin
    • Rewards for completing all steps – 3 Silver Pinap Berries, 1,500 XP, 1,500 Stardust
  • Melemele Island Page Two
    • Send 15 Gifts to friends – 1 Poffin
    • Take 5 Snapshots of wild Pokemon – 15 Ultra Balls
    • Trade Pokemon three times – 1 Star Piece
    • Earn 10 hearts with your Buddy – 3 Golden Razz Berries
    • Make a new Friend – 1 Lure Module
    • Rewards for completing all steps – Pom-Pom Style Oricorio Hat, 4 Lucky Eggs, Alolan Raichu encounter
  • Akala Island Page One
    • Catch 10 Pokemon – 5 Razz Berries
    • Make 3 Nice Throws – 15 Great Balls
    • Send 5 Gifts to friends – 1 Incense
    • Rewards for completing all steps – 3 Silver Pinap Berries, 1,500 XP, 1,500 Stardust

    • Walk 7 km – 1 Incense
    • Spin 10 PokeStops or Gyms – 15 Ultra Balls
    • Complete 3 Field Research tasks – 1 Star Piece
    • Take 5 Snapshots of wild Pokemon – 3 Golden Razz Berries
    • Hatch 3 Eggs – 1 Super Incubator
    • Rewards for completing all steps – P’au Style Oricorio Hat, 2 Egg Incubator, Alolan Marowak encounter
  • Poni Island Page One
    • Catch 10 Pokemon – 5 Razz Berries
    • Make 3 Nice Throws – 15 Great Balls
    • Send 5 Gifts to friends – 1 Rocket Radar

    • Catch 30 Pokemon – 1 Rocket Radar
    • Defeat Team Go Rocket Grunts – 15 Ultra Balls
    • Power up Pokemon 10 times – 1 Star Piece
    • Defeat a Team Go Rocket Leader – 3 Golden Razz Berries
    • Win 3 Trainer Battles in the Go Battle League – Premium Battle Pass
    • Rewards for completing all steps – Sensu Style Oricorio Hat, 3 Star Pieces, Alolan Exeggutor encounter
  • Ula’Ula Island Page One
    • Catch 10 Pokemon – 5 Razz Berries
    • Make 3 Nice Throws – 15 Great Balls
    • Send 5 Gifts to friends – 1 Lure Module
    • Rewards for completing all steps – 3 Silver Pinap Berries, 1,500 XP, 1,500 Stardust

    • Catch 30 Pokemon – 1 Glacial Lure Module
    • Make 10 Curveball Throws – 15 Ultra Balls
    • Use 15 Berries to help catch Pokemon – 1 Star Piece
    • Make 5 Nice Curveball Throws in a row – 3 Golden Razz Berries
    • Catch 15 different species of Pokemon – 1 Magnetic Lure Module
    • Rewards for completing all steps – Baile Style Oricorio Hat, 4 Incense, Alolan Vulpix encounter

Which Island Path to Choose in Pokemon GO Alola to Alola Event

The matter of which Island Path you choose in the Pokemon GO Alola to Alola event, that’s pretty much completely up to your personal preference. Simply choose a Pokemon GO Path that has the rewards you want most. For example, Poni is more combat-focused, but it does reward you with a Premium Battle Pass, which is pretty nice. On the other hand, Akala is much easier to wrap up, and you get two regular and one Super Incubator, among other stuff. That’s also pretty enticing.
