How to Get Shiny Jirachi in Pokemon GO 2023

To get a shiny Jirachi in Pokemon GO in 2023, you’ll generally just have to be lucky enough to encounter one in the wild. The difference between a regular and a special Jirachi is a little harder to notice, especially if you have trouble seeing some colors. Why? Because the only difference is in the color of the three ribbons this Pokemon wears on its head. In the case of a regular Jirachi, these are a very light blue, while the shiny variant has red ribbons. It’s not too difficult to notice, but there are definitely Pokemon where you can spot the differences way more easily. The far bigger problem is that all shiny Pokemon are very rare, and this one is no different.

All that said, there is a way to increase your odds of scoring a shiny Jirachi in Pokemon GO in 2023. The Hoenn Global Tour event will take place from February 25th at 10 AM local time to February 26th at 6 PM local time. However, starting on February 20th (according to Twitter), you’ll be able to purchase a ticket for the Masterwork Research. Having this ticket will let you participate in special tasks at the end of which you’ll get an encounter with a shiny Jirachi, guaranteed. No word yet on how much this ticket is going to cost. Do I support Niantic basically gating of a guaranteed shiny encounter behind what’s essentially a microtransaction? Absolutely not. But, it is what it is.
