Can Xerneas Be Shiny in Pokemon GO

Yes, Xerneas can be shiny in Pokemon GO in 2022. So, whenever you run across one of them, engage in the fight if you can. You never know when the odds are going to be in your favor. Obviously, as is the case with all shiny Pokemon, the special version of Xerneas appears very, very rarely. On the bright side, it’s easy to spot the differences between a regular Xerneas and the shiny one. The easiest way to tell is that the body of the rare variant is white instead of black. There are also some subtle differences between the antlers and the head, too, but the body is the dead giveaway. Now, with all of that said, how do you get one of these?

The only way to obtain a shiny Xerneas in Pokemon GO in 2022 that I’m aware of is in five-star Raids. Considering that it’s a Legendary Pokemon, it stands to reason that you’ll have to work extra hard to obtain one. This does introduce an extra lair of frustration, though, because you have to wait for Xerneas’s turn to feature in five-star raids on top of contending with the extreme rarity of the shiny version. On the bright side, starting with the Evolving Stars event (from October 8th, to be exact), Xerneas will be appearing in Raids. You’ll have until October 20th to snag a shiny one. We’ll write a separate guide for how to best fight Xerneas in Raids. For now, just be sure to use Steel or Poison attacks.
