The Test Your Mettle event is currently underway in Pokemon GO. This event is all about Steel-type Pokemon, and the Challenges, Tasks, and Rewards all reflect that. If you are interested in completing all of the special Timed Research Tasks and Test Your Mettle Catch Challenges in Pokemon GO, then this guide is here to help. We are going to list out everything that you need to do, as well as all of the rewards that you can get from it. With that said, let’s dive right into it, shall we?

Pokemon GO Test Your Mettle Catch Challenge Timed Research Tasks & Rewards

The Test Your Mettle event is going to last from Friday, September 16th, 2022, at 10 AM your Local Time until Wednesday, September 21st, 2022, at 8 PM your Local Time. For the duration of this event, you will be able to complete several Field Research tasks, as well as Timed Research Tasks. We have a separate guide on the Field Research Tasks and their rewards, so in this guide, we are going to concentrate on the Timed Research Tasks themselves. So without further ado, here they are, starting with Step One:

  • Catch 25 Steel-type Pokemon. You will be rewarded with: x25 Poke Balls.
  • Walk 2 kilometers. You will be rewarded with: an Onix encounter.
  • Perform 15 Nice Throws. You will be rewarded with: x20 Great Balls.
  • Perform 10 Great Throws. You will be rewarded with: x10 Ultra Balls.
  • Perform five Curveball Throws. You will be rewarded with: x10 Pinap Berries.
  • Use 10 Berries to help catch Pokemon. You will be rewarded with: x25 Steelix Mega Energy.
  • For completing all of these, you will be rewarded with: a Togedemaru Encounter, x1 Magnetic Lure Module, and 2500 XP.

Now let’s see the Research Tasks and Rewards for Step Two:

  • Catch 25 Steel-type Pokemon. You will be rewarded with: x25 Poke Balls.
  • Perform 15 Curveball Throws. You will be rewarded with: x3 Golen Razz Berries,
  • Evolve three Steel-type Pokemon. You will be rewarded with: x20 Great Balls.
  • Perform five Excellent Throws. You will be rewarded with: a Beldum encounter.
  • Catch five different Steel-type Pokemon species. You will be rewarded with: an Alolan Sandshrew encounter.
  • Take Snapshots of five different wild Steel-type Pokemon. You will be rewarded with: x1000 Stardust.
  • For completing all of these, you will be rewarded with: x25 Aggron Mega Energy, an Aron encounter, and x50 Aron Candy.
