How to Trade Pokemon GO Meltan

Before we answer the question of how to trade Meltan in Pokemon GO in 2023 , we first have to see whether you can do so at all. Fortunately, the answer is yes, you can. However, there are some really strict constraints that you’ll have to contend with. First off, there is no way to trade any Mythical Pokemon via Pokemon HOME and the GTS. That includes Meltan. Instead, you can only do so through the game itself and the Friends system. When you trade Meltan with a friend this way, it treats it as a Legendary instead of a Mythical. That means that the Stardust cost is astronomical. If you want to make this exchange with a Best Friend, aka the highest tier of friend the game has, it’ll still cost forty thousand Stardust if they don’t have a Meltan already. When it comes to how to trade Meltan in Pokemon GO in 2023, that’s not the only stumbling block. You also have to be within a hundred meters (about a hundred and ten yards) from your friend. Some events extend the distance, but for the most part, forget about trading Meltan globally.

And there you have it, that’s basically all there is to regarding how to trade Meltan in Pokemon GO. It’s not the best news you’ll ever get, I suppose, but at least it can be done. And there’ll be no better time than this month, when the TCG crossover event kicks off. Read more about that in our Shiny Meltan Pokemon GO, Mystery Box guide.
