How to Get Moon Stone Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

There are many items to find in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. All of them have a purpose in the game. Some will help you heal your Pokemon or raise their combat stats, while others have completely different effects. Take the Moon Stone as an example. This item causes specific species of Pokemon to evolve. Though, naturally, before you can give it to the Pokemon that you want to evolve, you first need to figure out the Moon Stone location and actually find it in the game. But not to worry, since we’re here to explain precisely where and how to get the Moon Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Where to Find Moon Stone Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

To get the Moon Stone in Pokemon SV, head towards the spot we have marked in our screenshot below. It is in the canyons in South Province (Area Three). You will find the Moon Stone there in the middle of a patch of grass, next to a tree. It looks like a Pokeball and it is enveloped in pink light, so it is very hard to miss. The description for it states that the Moon Stone is: “A peculiar stone that can make certain species of Pokemon evolve. It is dark like the night sky.”

As you can see, the Moon Stone is linked to the evolution of certain Pokemon. Specifically, it causes Nidorina to evolve into Nidoqueen, Nidorino to evolve into Nidoking, Clefairy to evolve into Clefable, Jigglypuff to evolve into Wigglytuff, Skitty to evolve into Delcatty, and Munna to evolve into Musharna. To get them to evolve, you need to give the Pokemon that you want to evolve to hold the Moon Stone. Doing this will cause the Moon Stone to be consumed.
