How to Get Shiny Charmander in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

To get a shiny Charmander in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you first have to capture a Charizard. That Pokemon is currently available in 7 star Raids, and will be for the next couple of days. For more info on that, check out our guides on the subject, like How to Find Charizard Tera Raid, How to Unlock 7 Star Tera Raids, and Best Pokemon for Charizard Tera Raid. Once you manage to do that, you’ll then have to breed it with Ditto and keep at it until you eventually hatch a shiny Charmander. The odds are really low, like with all other shiny Pokemon, standing at around one out of every four thousand. Fortunately, there are two ways to increase your odds.

In order to get a shiny Charmander in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet more easily, you can get the Shiny Charm. You obtain this item by completing the Pokedex and showing it to professor Professor Jacq in the Biology Lab at the Naranja or Uva Academy. The Shiny Charm doubles your odds of getting a shiny Pokemon. That is step one. Step two is using the famous Masuda method. Basically, you want to get a Ditto from a different language region and then start breeding. This, on its own, increases your odds to about one in six hundred.
