When is GTA Online Christmas Update 2023

At the time of writing, Rockstar have not announced when the GTA Online Festive Surprise 2023 Christmas update is coming out. The best we can do at the moment is to engage in some educated guesswork. Between 2014 and 2019, the Festive Surprise usually began either on December 18th or December 19th. Then, when the pandemic hit, the date understandably moved. In 2020, the winter festivities began on December 22nd, on December 23rd in 2021, and December 22nd again in 2022. With all of that in mind, we can probably expect the Christmas update to come out on Friday the 22nd or Saturday the 23rd. Or maybe Thursday, the 21st; it;s gonna be somewhere in that window. We’ll have to wait and see. Of course, we’ll be sure to update the guide with more info when it comes out.

So, that’s basically all we know about the 2023 GTA Online Christmas update, literally. We don’t know what it’s going to feature, either. I mean, we can assume that there will be holiday-themed costumes and other gear to earn, probably themed missions as well. However, Rockstar has really kept completely mum about the whole thing. Considering that GTA 6 is in development, it is quite possible that the GTA Online team doesn’t have as many people to work with as before. That could cause a delay in the release of the winter content. Then again, they definitely haven’t stopped putting stuff out for GTA 5 yet, so who knows. Again, we’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out. Stay tuned.
