Farfetch’d is one of the pokemon available in the lineup of Pokemon Sword & Shield. It’s a pudgy bird with a smug look on its face, that uses a leek for a weapon. It’s a normal and flying type, and it can be found roaming the Wild Area. When certain conditions are met, it can evolve into Sirfetch’d, a knight with a rich plume and a lance and shield made of vegetables. Since it’s relatively hard to obtain and the evolution mechanics are unclear, we’ve decided to write this guide, which will show you where to find Farfetch’d in Pokemon Sword & Shield and how to make it evolve into Sirfetch’d.
Where to find Farfetch’d
There are two places we know of where you can capture a Farfetch’d. They’re both in the Wild area, and both have only 5% chance of spawning it. The first is Route 5, regardless of weather, and the other is Giant’s Mirror, where it only appears during overcast weather. It’s probably going to take hours, no matter which location you choose. Make sure you bring lures and high quality balls – you don’t want to encounter a Farfetch’d then fail to capture it.
How to evolve Farfetch’d into Sirfetch’d
At this point, it is still unknown by which method Farfetch’d evolves into Sirfetch’d. According to some information we’ve seen floating around, he’s supposed to become ready after a certain number of battles. Rumor has it that it’ll evolve after 43 battles, but can’t say for sure. There was also talk about requiring a special item, but as far as we know, that has been debunked. We’re going to keep playing, and we’ll update the guide as soon as we have more information. If you figure it out before we do, feel free to leave a comment and let us know.
