Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be having an open beta this weekend. If you’ve preordered it, you can start playing a couple of days early. Pre-purchasers will be allowed inside tomorrow, while the rest of the world will have to wait until Friday. The beta will end on Monday for everyone, and the full game will launch a bit more than a month later. EA have revealed the exact SW Battlefront 2 open beta starting time.
If you’ve already bought it, you’ll get to play it on October 4th. The gates will open at 1 AM PDT (4 AM EDT, 10 AM CEST). If you’re interested in trying the game before you shell out the cash, you’ll have to wait until October 6th. The starting times will be the same. Both groups will be kicked to the curb come October 9th, 9 AM PDT.
As for what’s inside, the most important thing is the Starfighter Assault. It’ll take place at the Fondor shipyard, and it’ll let players have what many felt was missing from the previous game – actual space battles. Then there’s the Strike, which will show off the Takodana map, and the Galactic Assault, which is to be fought at Naboo. The beta will also sport an Arcade Mode, which will be tied to Theed, the capital city of Naboo.
Each day of the beta will also have a different daily challenge, because it’s 2017 and you can’t really have a game without daily challenges. They’re mostly there to make you try out the different stuff you may have missed, like playing as a hero or driving a spaceship.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is going to be released on November 17th. This beta is your one and only chance to try it out for free, so if you have any interest in the series, do take a look.
