Street Fighter V Arcade Edition Getting Blanka on February 20th

Street Fighter V is getting the second character of Season 3. The fighter in question is Blanka, everybody’s favorite green-and-orange ball of lightning from the jungle. It’s weird that they’re adding such a legendary and beloved character so far into the game, but hey, now he’s here. In Street Fighter V, his story continues from the previous installments. After having crashed into the Amazon in a plane as a child, Blanka learned to survive. Also, his skin turned green and he has lightning powers, because video games.

Now, Blanka, aka Jimmy, lives with his mother in civilization. He gets approached by a mysterious salesman, who wants to mass-produce Blanka dolls. This setup is so ridiculous that I absolutely love it. As for his fighting style, it’s as feral and brutal as ever, including his V-moves, which you can check out in the trailer below. It’s pretty damned awesome to behold.

As for how you can get Blanka, there are several ways, according to the announcement blog post. The first and most obvious is simply buying him with real money. You can either pay $5.99 for only him, or purchase the Season 3 Character Pass for $29.99. The latter method will also get you all the other characters from the season, including Cody, Sagat, and others. Both of these methods will also net you Blanka’s Battle Costume and default costume colors. If you don’t want to spend real money, get ready to grind out 100.000 Fight Money in order to purchase Blanka.
