How to Read Ancient Hyrulean Text in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

During your exploration of Hyrule in Zelda TOTK, and one point, you will find mysterious tablets with some Ancient Hyrulean text that you cannot read. So, how to read these messages written on a “Tablet in Ancient Hyrulean” in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom? The game implies that it is possible to read them. However, it tells you absolutely nothing about how to actually read them. Are these tablets here just to tease you, or is it possible to learn Ancient Hyrulean? The good news is, yes, it is possible to read them! The bad news? You’ll need to d a lot of questing before being able to do that.

Warning: Minor spoilers ahead! Link can not actually read this text on his own. In order to learn about Ancient Hyrulean text, you’ll first need to complete any of the two main questlines (two of the four main regional qests). Just in case you’re not sure, we are talking about Zora’s Domain, Goron City, Rito Village and Gerudo Town. And the main quests of these people.

Once you have two out of four done (for example, Zora and Rito), head back to the Lookout Landing, and find an NPC named Wortsworth. Talk with him, and he will teach you everything he knows about this Ancient Hyrulean Text in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. This will also trigger the “Messages from an Ancient Era” quest.
