However, it tells you absolutely nothing about how to actually read them. Are these tablets here just to tease you, or is it possible to learn Ancient Hyrulean? The good news is, yes, it is possible to read them! The bad news? You’ll need to d a lot of questing before being able to do that.

Warning: Minor spoilers ahead! In order to learn to read Ancient Hyrulean, you’ll first need to complete any of the two domain/race man questlines. Just in case you’re not sure, we are talking about Zora’s Domain, Goron City, Rito Village and Gerudo Town. And the main quests of these people.

Once you have two out of four done (for example, Zora and Rito), head back to the Lookout Landing, and find an NPC named Wortsworth. Talk with him, and the quest will trigger, and he will teach you how to read Ancient Hyrulean Text in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. This will also trigger the “Messages from an Ancient Era” quest. There is no quest to learn the language… You can only bring the tablets to Wortsworth to translate them.
