The first step of the Riju of Gerudo Town in Zelda TOTK or Tears of the Kingdom is to solve this riddle: “Standing back-to-back with the throne, witness red pillars across a vast sea. Unite the pillars in light to reveal the lightning stone and open the way You who can hear my voice, come to me. I await you.” That is, after you meet Riju at a mural in the underground shelter after freeing Gerudo Town. That part is easy, since you just follow the quest marker. After looking at the mural, go back to her throne and behind the large walrus. Turn your back to the throne as instructed, and you’ll see a building made of three pillars. Head over there and climb onto the bottom platform. Break the rocks to release the light beam.

The next step of the “Standing back-to-back with the throne” Zelda TOTK Riju of Gerudo is to follow the light beam to a second set of pillars. They are too low for the light to reach them, but there’s another tall structure nearby. At the top of it is a crank. Turn it counterclockwise to raise the pillars and divert the light in yet another direction. Go there next. On one of the levels of this new structure, you’ll find a bunch of materials, and there’s another crank at the very top. You need to use a combo of Ultrahand and Ascension to transport at least one piece of wood. Attach it to the crank and turn it counterclockwise until you form a triangle and the cutscene plays.

All that’s left is to go to the altar that rose out of the sand in the center of the triangle. After another cutscene, talk to Riju. She will tell you that you need the power of lightning. So, fire a lightning arrow (or a lightning bolt) at the metal glyph. That’s where we’ll leave off.
