Where to Find Cold Resistance Armor Early in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

In order to reach one of the Shrines in Great Sky Island, you will need to have Cold Resistance. This third Shrine in TOTK is atop a snowy mountain. Unfortunately, you will only be able to do this by using cold-resistance food. No cold weather gear will be available at this point. However, just after you complete the Gutanbac Shrine, you’ll get an opportunity to grab Archaic Warm Greaves. When you finish this Shrine, you’ll get the Ascend ability. And you will use it to reach this early-game Cold Resistance Armor in Zelda TOTK.

When you leave the Gutanbac Shrine, look to Link’s right, and you will see something that resembles a huge hollowed-out tree trunk on a platform slightly above your current level. If you approach it, you’ll see that there’s one small part of that platform which can be approached from below. Head there, and then use your newly acquired Ascend ability. This will, well, “ascend” you above, and you will now be on the platform with the huge hollowed-out tree. Enter inside the tree, and you will see a small Zonai chest. Open it, and inside, you will pick up your first cold resistance piece of armour! Now, whenever in a cold area, simply equip Archaic Warm Greaves, and you will need not eat Cold Resistance food!
